Shealynn Shave, who is the Executive Director and Debra Tierney, who is an Educational Coordinator at NTIEC spoke at the Apr 25 Rotary Luncheon at Purkey's Pink Apple.
The Northern Tier Industry and Education Consortium (NTIEC) is a 501c3 non-profit formed in 1993, dedicated to promoting school to work activities in NEPA. They serve 14 school districts in 4 counties. Annually they work with 1,500-2,000 students and 350 employers.
Their goal is to introduce students to the work opportunities available in NEPA, including work that does not need a 4 year college education. They hope to encourage local students to come back to this area to work.
Their programs include Youth Apprenticeships (YAPs) and career preparedness.
