Outbound Exhange Student Haley Toczko Talks at Aug 4 Luncheon

Haley is 19 yrs. old and just graduated from Tunkhannock Area High School.  She is going to District 2240 in Slovakia. There are 32,000 residents in her host city. Host family sister, who speaks English is going on exchange to Colorado, so she will not get to converse with her. That leaves her 10 yr old host sister named Ella and her host Mom and Dad. The family don’t really speak English, so Haley will have to learn the language quickly.

 

Haley has 2 sisters and 2 brothers.  Maggie, Jacob and Haley are triplets. They have been the host family for 2015-2016 inbound exchange student Frank Yu from Taiwan.

 

She has volunteered with the Red Cross for 2 yrs. She played field hockey and lacrosse for 3 yrs and was captain of her team for 2 yrs.

 

Haley practiced her presentation to be given in Slovakia on the US Government, our food including macaroni and cheese (she is learning to make it, so she can make it for her host family), holidays, facts about PA, and her family (who own Nimble Hill Winery).
