At the July 13 Rotary Luncheon at Purkey's Pink Apple, orthopedic surgeon, Dr. William Charlton, spoke to the membership about joint replacement surgery at Tyler Hospital.
The Rapid Recovery Joint Replacement Program started at Tyler in Jan 2017 and is modelled on the program in place at General Hospital.
Dr. Charlton talked about shoulder, hip and knee joint replacement, including non-surgical initial treatments, surgery and hospitalization times and full recovery periods.
