The Tunkhannock Club made a contribute of $350 to the Women with Children (WWC) Program at Misericordia University for 14 children for Xmas.

Katherine Pohlida, the Director of the Ruth Matthews Bourger Women with Children Program at the University, recently spoke to the Club about this initiative that was established in 2000. The program grants free housing, financial assistance, access to quality child care and an array of social, academic and family enrichment programming to single mothers.  The Program empowers economically disadvantaged single mothers by providing the opportunity to complete a college degree, creating brighter futures for themselves and for their children.
