On Black Friday, Nov. 24, members of the Tunkhannock Rotary and the Rotary-sponsored Tunkhannock High School Interact Club collected monetary donations from shoppers at four locations in Tunkhannock (Gay's, Walmart, Weis and Tractor Supply Plazas) from 8 AM to 1 PM to buy toys for kids for Christmas. Shoppers were offered candy canes as a treat for their donations.

This fund-raising activity has been undertaken by the Tunkhannock Rotary for more than 25 years. This year the candy canes were donated by Northeast Data. The volunteers were also very grateful for the hot coffee, cocoa and donuts provided by Dunkin Donuts.

Over $2,500 was collected from the very generous public.
